Newbie- Shock Horror Anyone know of any RWD puma's? Rate Topic:

Hi All

I'm Jake- been a bit of a car nut for a while now mainly anything with a Ford badge.... the list of the last cars I have owned is as follows.
Saph 4x4 cos
Golf Vr6 (shhhhh dont tell anyone)
300 bhp S2 (No bull here very well known car in Perf Ford)
Standard ish S2
RS1600i

Anyways.... I am on this website to find out as much as is humanly possible about PUMA's as I am planning a Rear wheel drive conversion on one in the very very near future.

If anyone can help with the sourcing of any info or knows of any shells knocking about - I am told they're out there- and lets be honest it would save me a lot of hassle.
Any help with the dimensions of a standard Puma
Or anything you might think usefull the please point me in the right direction.

that's because to date I don't think a RWD Puma has been built/finished, so you are on your own

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

I`m intrigued, but no info for you i`m afraid, how would you go about such a feat? cossie lump and running gear?? good luck, methinks you will require some, but let me know how you get on!! that would be awesome

I could be very wrong, but don't Pumaspeed have a 4x4 Puma - this being escort cosworth running gear incl cosworth engine?

alan at Pumabuild has m1 frp which is still front wheel drive but is fitted with a focus rs engine.

as far as i know i cant remember anyone doing a straight rwd puma.

lots of talk from people about different projects but nothing ever seems to happen

can anyone remember if this one was 4wd or rwd or fwd as i know it had a cosworth lump in it.

Pumaspeed 4x4 is no strictly a RWD only Puma

hence I didn't post it. It uses from memory the Cossie 4x4 set-up

Why does that shiny silver Puma with all its go-faster cutting edge spanky bits(the one for sale at PB) cost LESS than my 'ordinary' un-modded black Puma did?

It's because it is not standard, people modify cars to their own taste and on occasions it is difficult to find someone to take you pride and joy off your hands, Jill hasn't done anything to the car since she bought it from Russ 9-10 months ago, I'd buy it but I couldn't get rid of mine

rwd fiestas are a wee bit more common, often mk2 escort running gear.
there was a company doing a puma kit car that took cossie running gear, either 2 or 4 wd but i'm not sure how well they sold.

I know the silver one you are thinking of col but i dont think this one is it
There is a rear wheel drive puma in silver which was featured by track and race car, it has a cosworth engine and runs on wrc suspension. The guy who owns it is an engineer and carried out the work himself.

building one myself at the moment have all the bits just need to put it all together. having hassle to finding someone to do settings and geometry on it for me. got a welder ready to rock and roll just need to know where to cut and where not to
