Pumapeople Forum Rules

This forum is provided by Jason Aspinall and his moderating team. Use of the forum is subject to the terms and rules set out below. By registering to use the forum, you agree to abide by these rules which have been set out with the best interest of the Pumapeople community in mind.

1. Forum Membership
  1. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
  2. We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or where necessary, ban anyone who willfully & persistently violates the forum rules.
  3. While these rules will cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
2. Moderating
  1. All posts made to the forum are subject to moderation.
  2. Please keep posts on topic and relevant to the section in which they are posted. With regard to the content of posts, if you wouldn't allow a child to read what you've written outside of the Off Topic areas open to sponsoring members only, then please don't post it.
  3. The moderators have been chosen carefully and will only edit/move/split/merge/delete posts when they feel it is necessary - where time allows and/or to avoid confusion to newer members, the moderator responsible will PM the topic starter what has happened to their thread (NOTE: This does not mean all moderation tasks will result in PM's being sent out)
  4. If you disagree with a moderating decision that has been made, write a PM to the Site Administrator, where careful consideration will be given to it. As with most disputes, the Site administrator's decision is final, no further correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Posts in the main forum about moderators , or moderating decisions, will be removed without notice. Please see the note below if you have a grievance.
  6. If you have a serious complaint, please PM/mail it to the Site Administrator user.
3. Discussion
  1. The primary function of this forum is to allow Pumapeople members to freely chat about all things related to the car we all love (the sole exception being the Off Topic, Waffle & Chat (OT) part of the forum). The exchange of information, guidance, expert opinion and input is encouraged, but, people can and will disagree. Please respect that this is the natural way of things and don't be offensive or rude if you disagree, or are disagreed with. Explaining your argument in a mature manner will gain you much more respect than shouting from your soap box without thought for what you're writing.
  2. Pumapeople promotes safe and responsible driving. Therefore, discussions about any driving behaviour that breaks the rules of the Road Traffic Act will not be permitted anywhere on this forum.
4. Advertising
  1. Non Trade Sales are allowed by all Pumapeople members only. These must be posted in the relevant for-sale forum. Any ads posted in the wrong place will be removed without notice. Any "How much do you think my car is worth" type threads will be moved to the relevant forum for discussing such issues. The for sale forum is not a discussion area.
  2. eBay links to e-bay auctions may ONLY be placed providing the member has at least 25 posts to their name.
  3. eBay finds; where a member might find a useful link to a Ford Puma related item, may ONLY be posted in The Lounge area of the site.
  4. Wanted Ads can be placed by all registered users of the forum, and must be posted in the "Wanted" forum.
  5. Trade advertising in posts will not be tolerated, unless a specific discount scheme has been approved by the site admin. Forum users who are members of Pumapeople may (at the discretion of the moderators) have one line of normal text in their signature file with their company name, description of service/products and/or a link to their web page. No other contact details or information is permissable. Any web sites linked to in this manner must be for Pumapeople related products and/or be of interest to the readership. Avatars, and images in signatures, advertising a company are not allowed.
  6. Soliciting of products using the forum's PM/mailing system is also not allowed, unless information is specifically requested by a forum user. Members receiving such unsolicited PM's and/or emails should contact a moderator.
5. Cross Posting & associated Ford Puma websites
  1. Multiple posts with the same content in different forums are not allowed. The posts in all but the most relevant section will be removed by the moderators.
  2. The linking to off-Pumapeople websites for the purpose of advertising the presence of other Ford Puma websites, where questions raised would ordinarily be answered here, are not permitted. Violation of this condition will see your posts edited. Further violations will have you banned.
6. Language and "Text Speak"
  1. Please, try and use proper English.
7. Private Messages (PM)
  1. ALL private messages on this site, can be accessed by the site admin, as such, DO NOT assume total privacy when using the PM system. If you have this need, use email, not the website.
  2. If you send someone a private message, there is no need to announce it on the forum. If they visit the forum, they will get it.
  3. As per the "Advertising" rule, the messaging system offered by the forum should not be used to solicit products.
  4. If you are sent a PM you must not publish it on this, or any other, website without the consent of the author. If the content is questionable, please contact the forum admin (same applies to emails).
8. Images (including Avatars)
  1. The size of the images used on the forum should be relative to where they are being used. If an image is used on the forum that causes excessive scrolling then a link to the image should be used instead. Where images are deemed to be too large, the image will be replaced with a link.
  2. Avatars should be no bigger than 100 pixels wide by 100 pixels high, and should be under 10Kb so that the page loads quickly for all forum users
  3. Images in signatures are discouraged as they destroy the flow when reading a topic. If you must have one (and ONLY one), its dimensions should not exceed 640 x 80 pixels.
  4. Inappropriate images may not be posted or linked to. This is a Ford Puma related forum so try to keep images in context.
Registered users can send a private message to the Forum Admin if there are any issues/problems needing resolved.
