Hey guys! I'm afraid I haven't been on here for a long time - lots going on (graduating, moving, getting a job etc etc).
Anyway. I am trying to sell my P reg 1.7 Puma. You may have seen it appearing here and there - P929 YUM - 93,000 miles, Melina blue.

Basically the bad bit is that 2 of the piston rings are going. You may remember some posts relating to this a while back. It runs fine when it is warm but when it is cold its lumpy and burns oil.

Other points - front offside corner of the bumper could do with a spray (it doesn't shine), front wing has a pushed out dent and has faint scratch but nothing much, rear arches have 2" or so of rust on each, rear boot lip has small 1" dent. No major bodywork issues, just 11 years of wear and tear and carpark knocks.

ST150 280mm brakes on the front with Ford hoses.

Toad Ai606 Thatchams cat 1 alarm/immobiliser with two radio remotes - this includes alloy wheel sensors, glass break sensor, interior movement sensor and full window closure (windows go up when locked).

All the original keys.

Smoked side repeaters and silver front indicators. I still have the original orange filters too.

15" propeller alloys are in good nick with no curbing - the centre caps could do with a quick spray since they are peeling a little around the edges but nothing you would notice. Pirelli P6000 tyres all round with plenty of tread.

Interior is in very good condition. It has the 6000 series tape/RDS stereo but with Sony 130mm front speakers and Pioneer rear speakers. No holes cut in door panels or anything like that.

Air con, heated wing mirrors, electric height adjustable (cloth) drivers seat, drivers airbag...

Loads of receipts - certainly every receipt I have had, and I bought it 5 years ago as having full history so I can only assume it still is.

MOT until October 2008. No tax - I am not currently driving it so it is on SORN.

I have put a deposit down on my new car, but need to shift this one so am after a quick sale. I have had many sales fall through on this and am getting a bit fed up with ebay & Autotrader. You guys know Pumas and would be able to turn this into a good profit, or a cheap way of getting yourself a Puma. The engine does need to be replaced but not yet - it is still running and when its warm theres no problem. Findanengine has engines for around £600. The cambelt has been done on this one (obviously that doesn't matter if you are going to change the engine).

You could also buy it to break it if you like - but I don't have the space to have a car on bricks outside my house - plus I think the neighbours would complain!!

I am looking for around the £700 mark. Webuyanycar.com (or something like that!) has offered me £650 so that is my backup plan. That, or a car auction. Either way I have to get the car there and it is not taxed & therefore not insured - hassle!

I am 2 mins from J30 of the M5. I could also collect anyone from Exeter St Davids train station (the main one).

Make me an offer! I am looking to sell - I need the space, not the money, so am open to any sensible offers (no P/X and no 'One cat plus a jam donut' or similar!).

http://puma.jd-computers.com has lots of photos.

Cheers guys.

... clearly I meant to put this in the 1.7 section! Oops! Could an admin please move it?

Ta!

P reg Pumas are rare beasts indeed - i only thought 12 were registered as the original press cars - all in Silver - so yours must be one of the first ones to make it into production.

There are few around that were dealer demo's that were registered in June / July 97 as P reg's. Where I was at Brighton Ford at the time, their first demo was a P reg Cuirass one.

The first owner of this Puma was indeed a dealership...

... perhaps they would like to buy it back for old times sake?!

That would be fine as long as they could collect it...!! LOL! I believe it came from 'up North' originally and I am in Exeter, so perhaps a little far.
