Finally Got My Puma

Huy guys, my name is Adam & I have been lurking on here and Project Puma for a while now and these forums have provided me with a wealth of information when trying to find the right car for me. Having spent months looking at some real sheds described as "the best on the net" and wasting much time viewing them only to come away disappointed and disheartened I stumbled across this little diamond locally on ebay.
She was a one owner from new, with 72k on the clock, fsh with Haynes of Maidstone & had in excess of £700 spent last year on new tyres, brakes etc. She needs the arches repaired properly at some point, cam belt and new bumpers, but after a clean came up really well. She was advertised as spares/repair, which was being brutal in my opinion, so I picked her up at a great price. I am looking forward to my project.
I have lots of history with Fords of the past my first car being a MKIII Escort, a MKI Mexico then followed, Orion 1600L, Sapphire 1800L & then finally RS Sapphire Cosworth about 12 years ago. So now I am back home with another Ford and loving the experience, guarantees a smile every drive.

Hi Nick,
Cheers
Yes mine is medium steel blue also. I love the colour almost the same as my old cossie which was moonstone blue.
Can you easily get touch up paint for stone chips? Looking in halfrauds they don't appear to stock it!
Lots to do but so far have got the high light working, remote central locking going which Haynes couldn't achieve and spent 11 hours giving her a deep clean. I need to sort out a new bumper and tailgate as have a few issues, but so far been smiling every time I drive her. I hope it continues for a long time.
Cheers

Just remembered I need to check that back bumper and boot lid to.
You need a front lip rubber adding to the list as well?

Cheers Ian, yes I thought she looked a little naked from the front lower section. To be honest mate I am probably going to need a front bumper at some point as it has the odd few scuffs. I will also email you with vin code for interior bits, although very tempted by the black edition interior!

Not tried touching up and colour seems fairly rare. We have a local auto paint supplier who will make up rattle cans to order. My Puma was a 27k miler on a 51-plate so had few chips but needed the front bumper straightening and professionally respraying to make the car near perfect. Paint match was excellent. Looks as if you are missing some wheel centres and "chrome" wheel nut caps, they are all available NEW at reasonable prices and make a hell of a difference to the look.

Go to a Ford dealer for a wee touch up pen in the correct paint code, or you can get it from Ford Parts Uk, who seem to have loads of useful bits, including wheel centres.
http://www.fordparts...29490_c_208.htm
It's premix touch up paint, the match on my Millenium isn't perfect (most likley due to twelve years of fading, arf) but from ten feet it's fine.
I'll probably get the front of my bonnet resprayed at some point, the sort of driving I do (lots of backroad stuff) means my car is chipped to hell!
