My puma is in local ford dealer trying to resolve water in foot well. They've said they not sure if they can get a pollen filter case anymore. Does anyone know if I can. Its only got 10000 miles on it surely its repairable :/

Thank you £300+ in labour they've decided its coming in through wiring and are sealing it. It has unnerved me though when they said parts aren't available :/

Yes you can get the pollen filter because I've just changed mine and your leak is likely to be a grommet. My daughter's Puma has just had a similar issue and it cost just £30 to seal the grommet where the wiring came through (because the grommets are no longer available). Our mechanic simply blew smoke through the system to diagnose the leak but then he knows all about Pumas unlike Ford technicians who can't fix bugger all if it's not in their manual.

I had an irritating revving issue with mine before which Eldood suggested could be linked to the power steering load sensor. Would our Ford dealer consider it? Nope! So took it to the other local garage we often used and who are willing to listen to others and hey presto the issue was resolved within minutes and at no cost at all.

Find someone else if I were you and stay away from those robbers. The Puma is an easy car to work on for a competent garage.

£300 to not fix a leak, jeeeeeeeeeeeesus

Think we already spoke on Facebook - I'll repeat on here - everything is available but stay away from those prices!! That's obscene for that job.

We did Ian, I feel robbed but its done now lol(I hope). It was a great sense of relief to see that parts are available, for a moment I considered selling it but I couldn't part with her. I do use a trusted mechanic who has saved me a fortune where it had stood for so long cleaning things up and putting them back together rather than replacing parts, but he didnt find the grommet behind the fuse box, which was where it was coming in. Nice to meet so many people with good advice who love their pumas, I don't think till you own one you realise what beautiful cars they are to drive, my husband doesn't get it but then he's not allowed near it lol

If you get any more leaks please read this Wiki article.

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
