Yes, it's great isn't it?
Makes you feel like you're driving a proper car, not one of these silent, sanitised capsules everyone drives these days.
Makes you feel closer to the road - that's real motoring.

No, not shandy - FRP fumes. wink.gif

Sometimes, when you're standing at a junction with a gentle forward breeze, you can feel the heat of the fumes as they waft past your open window.

check the seal - rubber ring - on the petrol cap and the top of the fuel pipe entrance - for corrosion/sealing

and that the fuel filter isn't leaking

i've noticed my fuel cap pipe is corroded - it's getting more difficult to remove the cap when filling up

also have problems in warm weather when parked pointing up hill - petrol expands and pushes past the cap out onto the road!!!

assume these are both due to pipe corrosion around the lip breaking the seal with the cap
RPJ DAMPENERS - POWERFLEX ALLROUND - JANSPEED SS SYSTEM - SOLD - probably in bits now...

check the push fit connection on the fuel pipe where connects to fuel rail - their cr*p! just replaced mine (£30!) & still leaks / stinks of petrol if it even so much as wobbles!!!!!

i get fuel leaking down the rear wing from fuel cap if i take right handers 'enthusiastically'
