owned only 4 cars in 18 years..... (had a few company cars though between Polo and Puma, apart from an Astra all Fords)
1 litre Polo bought as a 2.5 year old car and kept for nine... excellent build quaility and reliable, sold with no rust on it and got Å“550 for it!
Mrk 1 1.4 (or might have been a 1.6) had at the same time as the Polo, fab car, MOT failure but could drive it as not classed as resident in the UK at the time. Took it home sold it for the same price and saw it a few years back fully restored biggrin.gif
Escort 1.4 had this for a few years too, easy car to drive and cheap
Puma 1.7 3 years
FRP 3 years now too biggrin.gif
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Current:
'98 Puma 1.7
'02 Mini Cooper (wife's. solid, fun, could do with being a bit quicker)
'98 Mondeo (trusty workhorse)

Before:
'94 BMW 325i Coupe (top quality. modded. quick. would love another one)
'01 Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 Sportwagon (lovely sound from v6, quick in straight line, too many trips to garage!)
'99 Lexus IS200 (very impressive, badly written off - still alive though!)
'99 Freelander (new baby=bye bye golf! practical, but diesel, so tractor-like sound and speed... days were numbered soon after buying)
'98 Ford Puma (wife's company car. superb car. should have bought it!)
'96 Golf GTi (mk3, so it was solid but not too quick)
'96 Vauxhall Vectra (mmmmm....never again)
'96 Honda Accord (had idea of buying and selling for profit. Just worked)
'91 Ford Fiesta XR2i (escort -> wife, XR for fun for me)
'94 Ford Escort (getting practical...3 cats in 1st year...troublesome)
'89 Ford Fiesta (wife's car, nothing special)
'91 Mini Cooper (great fun, but sold to dealer for profit [couldn't resist] which has led to years of hassle from wife)
'91 Cavalier SRi (bigger and comfier than nova, but slower than the Nova, wanted something quicker again)
'89 Nova GTE (quick, but wanted something bigger)
'82 Ford Escort (first car - as student, it leaked)
Gav

'98 1.7 Melina Blue (Gmax, S/S Exhaust, K&N, Powerflex bushes all round, Lower Strut Brace, 17" Alloys, Drilled/Grooved Discs, Carbon Splitter)

Only once have I seen a car that I sold. My first car, the Sierra. I sold it to a guy that was going to Jersey. I saw it in my road 2 years later in a very sorry state with all four arches bubbled up and rusted through. (metallic Silca Gold, lovely colour for a pooe car).

Before the FRP it was a Milly (and before that a 1.7 Puma Std in Radiant Red). Before that, it was a Renault Clio 1.8 16V in Racing Blue.
(Prior to that several other cars and a few bikes)
Started with a R reg Radiant Red, then a Milly, then an FRP, but all good things come to an end. FRP257 has now been swapped.. for a 197BHP Honda.......

laugh.gif A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, my first car was a mk3 cortina 1.6l.
I bought the car on credit for Å“500 in 1985 20 weeks wages at the time. 2 months later I lost the back end in snow and ran through the side of a house :cry2: The car was written off. Then followed a series of cheap cars.
Cortina Mk4 1.6 estate
Escort Mk3 1.6
VW Polo 1.2
Renault 18 diesel
cortina Mk5 1.6 later to become a 2.3 v6 and a money pit but lots of laughs :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Ford Granada 2.8 v6 auto
Fiat Uno 1.1(skint after the fuel cost of the grandad) :cry2:
Nissan micra 1.0
Renault 21 diesel
Citreon xsara 1.6
Finally tongue.gif tongue.gif the PUMA :rotflmao: :rotflmao: Which i intend to keep and slowly mod over the next few years.
The reason for so many pooty cars is as well as two kids I have owned a series of expensive motorbikes over the years, from humble commuters to a 1170 kawasaki with big bore engine, big carbs and nitrous :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Previous car was a Ford SportKa SE, I actually chose the Puma as I loved the SportKa but wanted more power.

I also own a FIAT 126, 28BHP biggrin.gif

VW Golf Convertible (4 gear 1.6 picnic basket)
Fiat Coup‚ 2.0 16v Turbo (195 bhp)
