Hmmm been cleaning the KA last night from 8 to 9. As most of my cleaning stuff are still in the green puma @ pumaspeed, I went down to tescos to get their brand of detergent and wax.

1) 1 bucket of hot water + car wash liquid and sponge the car
2) clear water and sponge car
3) wipe dry

It is then that I noticed circular fades on the bonnet area and also about 5 more on the roof. I took out Megs 83 and started polishing (the spots only) and wiped it off. but the circular marks still remained. My guess is that the previous owner did not bother washing off the bird poo when they fell and waited till they "cemet" themselves to the paint...

Going to get my clay and see if it would work better... Any ideas from the floor??

I recommend a big shotgun, preferably double barrelled.

I think the acid degrades the paint, so once that has happened nothing you can do. Might be wrong though! Please don't shoot the birds sad.gif

Sounds like a sign outside a strip club wink.gif

Try something with a cutting compound.

I think megs 83 is a cutting compound... Might try it with a rotary this time with megs polishing pad The dark brown one... as well as using megs83 together. was using my palm (not as in Palmtop dry.gif...) to rub it yesterday. if all else fails... wet sanding would be the next on the list i guess thinking of using 2400 Grade wet sand paper.

not the bird's fault as well... more of the last irrespondsible owner's fault. If I am not wrong is a women tongue.gif (nothing against women. Just that I think they dont like to touch bird $hit therefore did not want to get dirty cleaning it off.) smile.gif

Run your hand across the paint after washing. If it feels 'sticky' then it hasn't been waxed recently. I've noticed that when I use something like Autoglym Super Resin Polish on unwaxed paint it 'grabs' the surface and is really hard work.

You could of course remove the bird lime marks with a heavy duty hot pressure washer like I have done in the past, and take the paint off down to the primer ph34r.gif

i think it depends on whether the bird poo has been on the paint work for long...

halfords do a 'rubbing compound' in a nice yellow tube....

rub that lightly over the area with a damp cloth...... should do the trick.... (it's a basically a G3 cutting compound)

if your paint is a '2 pack' with clear coat on top...... go easy.... don't rub too hard.... and make sure the cloth is nice and wet....

had this problem on my dads mondeo and quite a few cars which i have valeted as well, the only way of getting rid is to respray the panel unfortuntly, the bird poo eats its way into the laquer as far as the paint so its a case of sanding it off and painting it agen

So does that mean that if we can't shoot the birds, we can throw large knives at them?

Was thinking that as they're shiney, might be able to attract them towards the knife as it's thrown....

No stop it lol! I surrender, the birds shall not be harmed! biggrin.gif

Until the next time anyway ja_bebe.gif biggrin.gif Kidding!.
