hi about 6 months ago i replaced the window regulator on the drivers side with a good but used one it has just started to make a sound like the teeth on the cogs are slipping when the window is put fully down, when it starts to go back up it bangs, i did have a lot of hassle trying to pot rivet the new regulator on

Its either catching on something or the motor is also faulty, only real way to tell is inspect.

They will run off the car with 12v to the plug pins, reverse polarity to reverse direction.
