Hi Everyone,I have just purchased. 2002 Puma 1.6 in red.Picking it up tomorrow. I know very little about these cars, just always loved them when I was younger and could never afford one until I had a family and them needed something bigger.I guess this is a project car, no MOT, but drives really sweet, no knocks. Just feels really tight.Hope I've made the right decision.Plan to spend lots of time getting this right when the weather warms up a bit.All advice gratefully received.Colin.

Hi and welcome. The 1.6 is a great car, my Mrs drives one. Obviously a bit down on power compared to the 1.7 but still handles the same and is good fun.
Cam belt change on these is 10 years or 80k miles I think, so not so much an issue as the 1.7. It's also a more straightforward job.

Enjoy your new Puma to you. Hope you can sort the MOT without too much trouble. The online MOT system is useful you can use the vin number and look up previous history to get a picture of what you might need to do.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
