Hi all,

I have a Y-reg Puma, got it around mid December, a couple of times, to start with now a fairly regular occurrence, my indicators, air blower and the electric windows have stopped working whilst driving, the headlights stay on. The 'in car circulation' (not sure of technical term) lights up, but not fully. Has anyone else experienced this? Also any ideas as to what the cause and how to fix?

any help would be very much appreciated

Hi
You have nothing to loose in checking the condition of the earth straps on the car, there is one at the back of the engine bay.

The fact that you mention the air blower and the recirculation indication puts a bit of suspicion on the blower resistor pack. This is mounted under the passenger side dash and is a common problem. If this is breaking down it could possibly give the symptoms you describe.
Does the fan work on all 4 speeds?

Hi all,

I have sorted the initial problem, with the fan, elec windows and indicators. I did the above recommended advice initially found the earth strap wasn't even attached to the block head, and it wasn't looking too great, so replaced that. That didn't resolve the problem but no harm it being replaced as it was in poor condition and approx. £7 then, found the resistor pack, that didn't look to great, had to get one from Ford £41 replaced that, didn't resolve the problem. But after discovering a post "Indicators, Electric Windows And Heaters Stop Working Intermittently" by Tucky, As Tucky said I located the relay switch, and it was loose so pushed firmly into place and boom all back working two new parts may not of needed right now but I am pretty sure they wouldn't of lasted too long. So if anyone else has this follow the linkhttp://www.pumapeople.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=106036 and try the relay switch, as well as the other checks and prob worth checking the battery terminals and connections also. I hope this is as helpful in the future for someone else as it was for me.

Great site very helpful

Ross
