My 97 Pooma is looking like an off roader at the moment and my friend who races in the SEAT Cupra Championship (car No77) suggested that I lower it. I was wondering with 15" alloys will it look stupid if i dropped it 40 mm if any one has any pics that would be wikkid wink.gif

Cheers

Jamie

I am also thinking about lowering my car, will I be able to just get my local garage to fit some lowering springs without new lower shocks or will that fail the MOT?

Someone with a load of knowledge on here will hopefully be able to answer that one for you. I would be interested to know as well.

That is my main worry as I had heard that with the original length shocks the spring could pop out when the car was jacked up and that could be seen as a failure. unsure.gif

ur best off changing ur dampers when you fit lowering springs anway
as lowering springs tend to wear out std dampers quicker
look at the fiesta in my sig, one of my old cars, that was lowered a quoted 40mm (but it was more like 50-60mm actually) on a spax vsx kit, cost around 250£, springs and dampers.....
the proper way to do it happy.gif
oh and it would look and handle a lot better imo (just dont go TOO stiff)

I'd suggest WEITEC GT COILOVERS.

Mine's lowered on Weitec GT coilovers and still running 15s. Pics all over the place, just look for the yellow Puma cool.gif

Still undecided on height, currently lowering the back in small stages until I'm happy. Seems to have helped braking stability but I don't want to go too low or else it will start lifting wheels in corners ohmy.gif

Coilovers are a bit out of my price range too. What are the Gmax kit like the below link, are they any cop?

Clicky.

Was at Pumaspeed thursday - Tony recommends Wietec over GMAX - saying Gmax are a bit "crashy" - his word not mine.

(I've got Wietec now wink.gif)

I lowered my car with koni. I have them now for almost 2 years and I'm very satisfied.
It's adjustable for high or low and for hard or soft.
