Can anyone give me some advice on how to cure rattling noise from passenger door and if some form of sound proofing is required, can you recommend what to buy and where to get it.

Thanks in advance.

try turning up the radio!

I have had my kat back to my dealer several times for rattles in the doors. They take the door apart, put it back together, and tell me there is no rattle. As I drive off their forecourt with the doors rattling ...

the FRP is harder than the standard Puma and is more prone to rattling.
You could try taking the door panel off and see if there is a cable that could be taped to the frame should thay be rattling. (I have not bothered doing this)
But IMPO if you find rattles really annoying you will quickly tire of your FRP sad.gif...
If you add more sound proffing you may loose the exhaust noise wink.gif Though chris has done the rear I think and is pleased with the result.
Mine rattles on both doors, some days not a lot others more so...
good luck smile.gif
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Thanks for your help & advice ... I'll be taking the door panel off for a thorough inspection next week.

I must be lucky - my FRP is much less rattly than my old puma.. or maybe I can't hear it over the exhaust.. hmm

If you get squeeks rather than rattles from the door, then it's often the bit of plastic in the corner protecting the wires to the mirrors - a bit of candle wax on the edges has solved it in the past for me..

other problem can be that the little clips holding the pannel on at the bottom have broke - I assume ford sell replacements.

The only way to solve it if the problem is not obvious is to rebuild the door looking for anywhere that contact/vibration is possible and using rubber to damp the contact area or use damped mounts to prevent the vibration in the first place. not cheap or quick to do.

Same theory is used in the submarine I work on and that costs £1billion new!!

My FRP doesn't rattle at all. Even with my Powerflex Bushes and even stiffer suspension. My original puma was quite rattley. Upon taking the door apart (to change the door cards) I found a screw sliding about in the metal door frame!
