Might be a daft question...
but could I re-use the original bolts, nuts, springs, etc? or is it vital that I use a new fitting kit???

IME its the wire sealing ring that crumbles when you take the whole lot apart... the springs / bolts also rust which make it nice and squeaky when the engine moves ...
It might be worth trying to do the job with what you have at the moment - if that doesn't work then you will have to buy the kit

a few years ago you could buy the 'O' ring seperately, now you can only buy it as part of the fitting kit
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
