Does anybody know how to remove the heat shield from above the back box? It looks like the head of the screw should be in the boot floor but if I lift the carpet there is nothing there!!!.........

i think theyre just studs, not threaded but ribbed & the clips just kind of pull of

go to ford & buy some new ones & just rip them off cos they tend to be knackered once youv got them off anyway...

Pair of pliers and screw them off as Jacko says you'll have to replace them as they may very well pull off.

What needs the replacing - the studs, the clips, or both?

the clips can be undone with a large socket, think 22mm did it on mine. then screwed back on to save you buying new ones...

Thanks for the advice guys. I have succeeded by using a 22mm socket (thanks Paul biggrin.gif ). I was taking the heat shield off to apply underseal to the underside of the boot floor.........
