FINALLY, i have sourced the root of all evil causing the Idle Flare issue on my fiesta...
Check this out on your Puma's too if getting this issue!... it's a little loom connector near the front of the car ( look just under the front bumper ..drivers side) that connects up power steering..
As you can see, the wire has just become brittle and broken off where it meets the connector...it's a little thin and flimsy to say the least..
Because of this, iv'e been buying parts for MONTHS which then led to even more probelms as the new Idle Control Valve i bought was actually faulty... Ford for some reason couldn't diagnose thsi despite having the car for two days... Richard at Tremona did go over the car much more thoroughly and recognised the ICV problem fairly easily and did a rework of the wiring loom for me to improve signal strength to the Throttle Position Sensor..TPS... all this did improve the running of the car, but still it would only settle on revs when car was at complete standstill...Richard seem to suggest this was normal... but having a previous 1.4 before i couldn't remember that being the case.... even so, the car when warmed up would not idle at the nice 940 revs... it would always sit at around 1100..grrr...
Anyway, i just found out this issue just by a passing glance at a topic on ZSOC forum, a guy described the EXACT same issue, and many owners piped up straight away as this being the problem, and sure enough it was.... if this is such a common issue why do garages not know about it...
iv'e done a quick tempory fix using electrical connectors until i can source a new piece of wiring loom...
The car now runs sweet as a nut and idles perfectamundo...
Happy Lad...
