Solution To Parcel Shelf Strings Falling Off

It has been mentioned here many times that some grommets from Halfords can stop this - you need the smaller type in pack HFX214.

Hope this is helpful, now to return the ones I didn't need!

One of my strings kept falling off but I noticed the clips where off centre to the centreline of the string so when I clipped it back on the same as the other it hasn't fell off since. Something to do with the angle of the string in tension forcing the clip against the pin when fitted one way and doesn't when fitted the other. Simple solution but you wouldn't realise it would matter which way you put them on until you try both ways and see the difference.

Edit: Just re-read the first post and am now thinking it relates to the parcel shelf end - thus the talk of grommets - but either way, you now have a possible solution to the top fixings...lol

I put Blue Tac on mine a few years ago, and never looked back rolleyes.gif

I used two rubber bleed nipple caps that come with wheel cylinders
