Not sure whether it will be helpful or not, but I have booked myself on a one day photography course for Thursday. It's supposed to be tailored to people who know some of the basics, but want to learn more about apperture, speed, exposure settings etc. so I think I will be able to pick up a little bit from it.

The basic format is a quick classroom session to go through the basic settings we will be using during the day, doing some shots, looking at them on PC and critiqueing them, then another shooting session and a final review of the second set of pictures, so there should be some chance to correct any errors in the afternoon from the morning session.

It's not the normal sort of subect I choose to shoot (wont say what just yet, but I think the subjects will be of some interest to people here), but thought it would be interesting to try something different and any help with settings etc. is better than none at all in my mind.

If they are any good, I'll post some of the pictures in here when I get the chance to smile.gif

It's something I've been thinking about. I'm sure a decent course will be better value for money in picture quality terms than, for instance, a new lens. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

thanks. didn't think it was horrendously expensive (£75) for some expert help.

Luckily I don't really have the expense of lenses etc, with just having my panasonic bridge camera, but I know what you mean.

I really like the look of this one, Caz. Wouldn't need the accommodation though, and they don't quote a price for attending the course but not booking the accommodation. Might e-mail and ask.
