Year: 1999
Price: 8,900 Euro (£7137)
Description: Sale because of task of hobby! Only 2000 km run, everything since employment year 2000 orginal still verblombt (engine, transmission). Stack of instruments, lifting system, fire extinguishing system, car passport and all documents.
As much I would love to own a pukka Puma Cup car like this, the hassle of buying in Germany, importing it, then converting it to UK road going spec would be too much. Also, given some of the above pictures, I imagine many of these cars have seen much 'action' over the years, so I'd rather buy a cheap 1.7 road car and convert it to track spec. A £1500 Puma, with £5.5K of mods would give that Puma Cup a run for it's money, then so would a similarly priced FRP.

And shame on me, for not doing it myself.
I'm sorry, but I don't have that many pictures or any video myself.
But I'll look for it...
Meantime, if you need any info about the drivetrain being used, I'd be more than glad to assist you on this.
And as a starter:
It had a four cylinder engine with a 5 speed gearbox.
OK, OK just kidding, Chris
Development of the engine and building all of them as well as rebuilding of the gearboxes was done over here at our place.
Anyway, great job Chris

I'm seriously liking the grey (instead of silver) Fiesta dash bezel and heater control panel...
Not a fan of the Puma's silver painted interior bits

Thanks Bernd!
I saw that the VCT system was disconnected. Why was this? Aside from the camshafts, were there any other internal changes to the engine. Also, did the gearbox have a limited slip differential, and how did the ratio's / final drive differ for the standard 1.7?
I'm curious to the see the route you guys took in tuning the 1.7 engine in comparasion to what Ford Racing did at Boreham with the Racing Puma?

Thanks for posting all these pictures Gaydek They are great. Shame none of us have been able to find any video footage of the Puma Cup beyond just that 10 second youtube clip.

Nice footage, proper thrash
The sound of a race engine on the rev limit in top gear (as at the end of the long straight at the Ring) really does it for me
