Well I would say more like jolting. The wife had her car serviced about three months back, new plugs etc.All has been well up until the last few days, when you release the throttle say coming up to a junction,it does not matter too much which gear you are in,but lets say 3rd gear around 35mph, the car starts jolting quite bad.Other than that it starts well and runs well with no misfiring. So guy`s any idea as to what I should be pointing the finger at first? If it was an old car like back in my days Posted Image I would have said it was similar to that of a coil packing up under load.

Hi
I suspect the lambada sensor also known as HEGO, if you had a fault reader you may well find oxygen sensor related errors.
Is the exhaust pipe particularily black and sooty?
Your fuel consumption may have gone up as well.
The sensor is pricey so best to check codes and other points I mentioned before buying a new sensor but don't buy a cheaper patent part they just don't last.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Check the clutch position sensor - if it falls out, it can default to 'clutch down' mode which allows for more aggressive engine, or more accurately, less throttle smoothing on lifting (to help change gear, of course). A garage broke mine and the car was damned near undrivable till I duct-taped it 'closed' and eventually replaced it.

Easy to check and a cheap fix - worth a look if you haven't checked it already.
