It is gibberish, your right!

The thing is, and this will sound really weird... with every car ive had I like having the factory fitted cd/radio. For these reasons:

1/ it sits nice and flush with the surrounding dash.same colours, same materials etc.

2/ the display lights are the same as your dash board lights.

! Yes im weird!

The technical term is...f**ked crazy.gif

Do you get these errors all the time or just from cold- you might be getting internal condensation which is causing the laser to become fogged over and unable to read discs. If the problem still persists after the car and interior are thoroughly warmed up (say, 1/2 hour) then the stereo could be kippered.

Plenty of Ford 6000CDs on eBay or probably down the local pub wink.gif

Even though you slagged the gorgeous LDM, I'd have to agree with you. Standard is the only way to go.

I had trouble with the 6006e in festa, but I still went I got a new one the same.

It looks like two of the segments that make up the second character on the LCD display have stopped working.

I agree with lion it looks like it should be 'CD 1..' and when theres not a disc in the tray 'NO disc'.
Segements are out, not sure if there is an easy way to resolve this.. Might have to get a new one..

.. I had a £200 Sony in my last car, I have always tended to replace the stereo but when I got the Puma I decided to give up replacing ICE kept the standard stereo as it isn't really that bad and gave the Sony unit to my better half..

.. Maybe i'm just getting old ja_stupid.gif

My CD6000 has just fritzed as well - every disc I put in it, it just reads CD Error and then chucks the disk out.

Instead of risking getting a similarly fritzed unit on EBay, can you pick them up new from Ford still?

Me too. The factory fit just looks 'right'. Any idea if you can connect amps to it, I want to upgrade my system but I want to keep the head unit?
