Hi All,

The front brake discs and pads need changing on my 1997 Ford Puma, 1.7. 16V.
I want to buy the parts off the internet as it seems to be cheaper to do that and then have it fitted at a garage.
I am unsure though which is the correct one to buy? Some are different measurements than others?

Does any one know the right thickness, diameter and height, stud numbers for my particular Puma model?

Your help wuld be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance,

Mary Jane

You will have the earlier 239.5mm diameter (20mm thick) discs . The later one's were 258mm diameter (22mm thick).
Both are 4 studs.

To MY: 02/2000
Brake Disc Type: Internally Vented, Ø: 239,5 mm, Br. Disc Thickness: 20 mm, Height: 43 mm, Hole Pitch / Number: 04/04.

From MY: 02/2000
Brake Disc Type: Internally Vented, Ø: 258 mm, Br. Disc Thickness: 22 mm, Height: 43,5 mm, Hole Pitch / Number: 04/04.

The Haynes Fiesta Manual (3397) can answer a lot of your questions.

Thank you for the help!!!! Do you know why some places are saying that a diameter of 240mm, or 239mm thickness is suitable? Would that 0.5 mm difference matter?

I know it might sound silly, but do you think it's ok to buy this off ebay?

Some people just round the numbers up!

These are the correct Pads/Discs for your car (Ferodo Brake Box), and are matched to each other.

If you hunt around, you may find them cheaper.
You can also double-check on there that they are the correct ones for your car.

Is this definitely suitable for a 1997 Ford Puma, 1.7? Thanks.
