Not a bad idea. Look what happened to Mk3. Cortina prices!! biggrin.gif

(BTW, Ashes to Ashes is good so far, but nowhere near as absorbing as Life on Mars. ........ and Sam Tyler's apparently dead too. sad.gif Crashed into the river in 1980. sad.gif )

Well, that was a fun hour. biggrin.gif Certainly did'nt get my brain working in the same way as LOM, but that was always going to happen with Ashes to Ashes. Sad to hear that Sam had died. sad.gif Was hoping he'd be living with Annie up in Manchester. sad.gif

As with a few car-type errors. biggrin.gif I seem to recall Audi did not produce the Quattro in RHD until a W or even X reg (1982/3?). Good to see the Met is running a fleet of a Ford Cortina, Granada, and a Mk2 Transit!! biggrin.gif However, I think they are in the wrong livery for the early-80's Met Police, plus where was for me the instant choice of 1980's Police Car, the Rover SD1!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Every 1980's cop show I can think of had a SD1, from CATS Eyes to Juliet Bravo (ok, I think she had a Meastro at one point!). biggrin.gif

Anyway, Ashes to Ashes is another great show and is not a dispointment after the brilliant LOM. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I'm tuning in next week for sure!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

It didn't do it for me.

I thought it was a just rehash of the original series.

I liked the cars and the music and I think Philip Glennister's character is great, but the story was weak.

It had to be to an extent, as you knew what happened to Sam from LOM. The first episode of that series was not the best, as it set the scene for the rest of the first series. I can understand many people may feel as you, due to the previous franchise being so strong. I'd also agree that so far the Sam Tyler / John Simm lead, was much more believeable than the Alex Drake / Keeley Hawes. lead. sad.gif

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO -What a Ride!:D

I thought it was entertaining rubbish! Not patch on LOM but I shall be tuning in for more. How many episodes will we get before Gene and the new lass get down and dirty? That Audi is definitely a later model. I can't remember the specifics, but it didn't look right for an original (I quite annoyed my wife pointing that out, frequently biggrin.gif ).

I've just been on iPlayer and seen that I've missed the second episode already! I'll have to watch it over the weekend.

Nice to know that democracy is alive and well, and that we got to defend ourselves. Not.
