My friend told me that the rear window heater can burn out if you leave it on for over ten minutes. This doesnt sound right to me but im clueless with the idiosynchrasies of cars.

Is he right or was am i right in assuming it will have an automatic cutoff?

I havent noticed it turning itself off.... certainly the little orange button/light on the main fascia stays on and I have to depress it manually.

Maybe that's just mine.

I;ve not heard of it burning out, and have certainly left mine on for much longer for more than 10 mins.

I;d thought if a risk of burning out, they;d do same as the front and it;d switch itself off automatically

ah so none auto switch off? when i purchased mine the button was broken, so i assumed the garage didn't fit the correct one which is why it doesn't auto turn off. If thats how it should be anyway then thats fine, lol.

I've accidentally left mine of for about 45 mins a few times and still all working smile.gif

Uses a bit more petrol tho i think?
