Got myself a new fuel filter to change mine, could anyone give me any tips on doing it? I had a look at TIS and it was saying about releasing pressure in the system using some special ford tool, do you have to do this or can I just swap it over?

Cheers,
Lee.

i did this myself to my FRP last week, all you have to do is take off the fuel cap to release the pressure. The clip to hold on the filter was a little tough but soon got it off with a flat head screw driver. Then as you pull off one pipe quickly put it on the new filter, making note of the direction the filter is facing and so on for the second pipe. I lost about a cup full of petrol but thats it, start the engine take it out for a quick spin to get the air out of the system as it self bleeds ja_cool.gif

You shouldn't lose hardly any fuel as the pipes going into the filter are valve push pipe connectors biggrin.gif

A few dribbles at most biggrin.gif

Easy peasy to do biggrin.gif

Did this today and was easy enough to do apart from refitting the clip to hold it in place. It took about 30 minutes to get it back on. Don't think it help that it was freezing and serious lack of space under the puma!
