Hi Guys,

Air con compressor has packed in , gas all leaked out too from aged seals. Been quoted £390 to replace by local air con specialist - £220 of which is compressor!

Anyone ever done this job ? Tempted to have a go myself can get compressor from breakers with 90 day guarantee for around £30 & regass kits at halfords around £50 ish.

Not sure how to take tension out of aux belt ? Presume compressor is same on all puma models?

Any help appreciated.

Kev

Aux belt needs a fairly long swan-neck 13mm spanner to back off the tensioner.

Make sure the re-gas kit is suitable with the Puma fittings as they're not all interchangeable. My local place does the re-gas for around £50 anyway so you're not worse off having someone else do it.

Should have word on those other parts tomorrow.
