Hi,
No that utter twat Fitz at Top Boss did not build the Engine, I did
He did build one for a friend of mine up here, and yes it did blow up very spectacularly
Just popped in to say hi, as I was discussing the Puma on another forum.
I have been busy setting up a new business and building a Workshop Extension since 2016 plus we also had 2 long and terminal family illnesses involving many trips down south etc etc.
I still have the V6 Puma, had a couple of stupid offers but nothing near sensible.
Just finishing off a Supercharged Mercedes V8 S Class Road Car project that turned into a full resto +++++++++++++ goodies
LOL, I am now doing all my own Paintwork, just nobody up here capable of doing a nice job without a 200+ mile round trip
Then I'll get back hopefully to doing something nice with the Puma !!
Took it for a quick thrash the other day, still good, but gonna strip it and re paint it properly one day lol.
If and when I get to it I'll probably do some Tarmac Hill climb stuff, Stage Rallying is dying a death here these days unless you are a works team, too many more stupid MSA Rules too.
Thanks for the comments, and if anyone does want the Car for a sensible amount of money, make an offer, I can only say no if it isn't enough
Cheers Dave

Great to hear your super Puma is still going strong even if quiet more often then roaring.
Given the summer weather we had I hope your season was very good up there.
Sorry to read of your need for trips down south.
There can't be many skills you haven't turned a hand at now with adding painting.
Sounds like workshop heaven.

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Hi,
Nice to hear from you.
I really need a 1200 sq ft minimum Workshop, have the space, but do I really need another project lol, getting too old for all that
If I do build one I will put in a dedicated Spray Booth area, another, (so 2) 2 post lifts, a 4 post lift and a large Bay where one can open all doors of a big car, and space for stripping out interiors etc.
Then office and washroom, plus Stores area.
I don't do Paintwork for Customers, not quick enough to make it profitable, but I am getting good enough now that I am now Painting my project S Class Mercedes a panel or 2 at a time and it is coming out real nice.
Also Painted a Wing, Door and Sideskirt for Mel's Car after her ditch incident last winter .................. That came out excellent, didn't even polish it before fitting the panels, it's an MB C Class looks perfect match and shine too
I am fully working from my home workshop now, and very busy, booked up 2 weeks in advance right now, it's good, but a headache trying to get anything done on my own stuff
Bigger Workshop would = less time shifting Cars in and out, could work on more than one at once
Cheers Dave

I've just read this thread end to end and WOW! I've just started building a 2.0 zetec turbo powered Puma using an RX8 box and an MX5 rear end. Id love to bend your ear for a few pointers if youre still on here!
