Apparently I've just been told by some guy in work who's a petrol head not to bother.. apparently it's not bright enough.. but looks good on your dash!!!
Hmmm... each to their own

Could look good with a blueish glow from behind the rear speaker-grilles too :-)

Damn :-( I thought the cold cathodes were brighter ? Ho hum, back to the drawing-board. Maybe some ultra-bright led's ?

You're joking yeah? Cold cathode lamps can be well bright!!! You ever stared into a scanner recently? Pure white light delivered courtesy of a 250mm x 2.5dia CFL
I guess it depends where you got that CFL from and the spec of the power supply driving it..

Depends on what you want to do with it.. you can get short lengths from scanners and with a moderate amount of heat, reshape the tube into the form you desire... Brightness wise, they are well bright driven from a 12VDC power source

I got them from www.litewave.co.uk
The LED brake light I just fitted is well good. I'll take some pics in a sec with the work camera and post here.

You can see from these that the roof lining has bent a bit, but i should be able to fix this with some reinforced "duck" tape.
48 LED is nice and wide

This site has woken the boy-racer in me. :-)
Undercar-lighting :-) Too bad it's £210 + £120 for a complete kit side and front and back. :-(

Dan, I was thinking of using this for the footwells in the MX5 as it has only one very small courtesy light, if this would do the trick (don't want it too bright anyway) I might buy it from you if you wish to offload
