Was my initial thought but this is only on one of the front wheels. And isn't brake dust usually black n dusty? This looks kinda leaky!

Looks to me like you've been through a muddy puddle. It hasnt sprayed out completely - just at the edges suggesting that the muddy water was behind the alloy and got forced out eventually on the sides.

Clean front and back when the roads are dry and see if it does it again. Bet it doesn't wink.gif

most probably the ACID rain wasting out the rust behind the alloys and the props (as they are fan blades) blows everything out when driving. therefore the brown stuff?? wink.gif

If the rain was acidic enough to wash rust off, then little brown streaks would be the least of your problems! wink.gif

IT IS brake dust residue...you will only get it on your front wheels as your only have discs and pads at the front, you have as you know drums on the back...dont worry about it.

have you used this to stop brake squeal perhaps

Unless it was used on the last service, no. I am going to have the brakes looked at when I next get the car serviced, they could do with being a tad more responsive!

They're not that bad, just feeling a bit worn, I don't think the pads have been changed for a while.

Yeah, my front wheels go from 'sparkling' to 'disgrace' in about 100 miles after being washed. And oddly, they always have a brown colour to them.
