Hello

i havent changed the wheels on my puma or anything there still standard. But sometimes i think she sit abit to high at the back. Would it be worth lowering just that back and if so how much?
Has anyone done this before?

they do sit higher at the back...even with a cheapy suspension kit its still noticeable.

if you want to completley rid it you will want coilovers which are adjustable

lowering JUST the back will make the handling go all funny i suspect

I've got Weitec GT, not coilovers and mine looks fab! (They are FRP rear shocks though.... sits lovely - see pics linked in sig below)

I will have a set of 4 Eibach lowering springs available soon (when I can find them again after moving house) so watch out for a "for sale" post from me soon

Got new Weitec shocks and springs. Eibach not on car anymore.

Look at the pictures linked in my sig to see how it sits now or in my gallery for older pictures (with 7 spokes) for eiback heights wink.gif

i remember reading somewhere that in front wheel drive cars the rear suspension height should higher than the front to reduce body roll in cornering?

One of the main reasons why the rear is higher than the front is to keep the car stable at high speed due to aerodynamics. The whole underfloor acts as giant diffuser, ie small gap at the front and larger gap at the rear helps to reduce drag and rear end lift.

I was pondering this last night and low and behold a Puma pulled up on other side of road. I think its also a bit of an optical illusion as the floorpan looked level with the floor.

That said, the FRP is definaltly proportionally lower at the back than the front, so who knows

Mines definately planted better on the road at high speed than your normal "beach buggy" ride height. How's that then?

the underside needs to be flat for the aero's to take effect and you also need a rear diffuser of sorts, look at the back on a clio 197, not sure on the underside though, never been that close to one.
The lower the car is to the road, the better the effects, the puma is pretty flat underneath but I think at standard ride height the amount it helps is negotiable.

However mine seems better after lobbing away the spare and it's carrier.
