decided it was time for weeding this weekend.... back garden is part patio, part gravel, with any / all plants living in pots! Suits me, and it's low maintenance -

must get out and paint the fences this year....

How do weeds manage to go through the visqueen, that's what I wanna know....
Anyway - spotted a pot at the back that looked as though it had a very dead twig stuck in it... went to investigate, discovered it was allegedly an evergreen shrub LOL.....
Off to the garden centre soon!

A few pix of our miniscule 15' x 15' front garden circa summer 2001...

Now converted to gravel and a play room for Holly and Kel's forever multiplying collection of rabbit hutches!

Hmmm, might take some pix of the Hostas later since it's a nice day smile.gif

It is a Polygonum (sp) of some sort... but i think it's had a name change fairly recently... it's quite common in garden centres tho... just looks like doc leaves till the bottle brushes appear.

One of my faves smile.gif

It's quite easy to split... if u were closer i could probably find a bit going spare smile.gif

Oooo, i remembered right...

Just type polygonum into google img searcch... u'll find it easily smile.gif

my Dahlia has tried again to push a shot up good.gif but there are still 3 others that aren't showing yet and a whole load of bulbs like Mombreatia

I'm not big on Dahlias... it's the earwigs i dont like... lol

I found crocosmia (mombretia) takes a while to establish... had some that did oops all for about 5 years... just produced a few green shoots and that's it. Now it goes bananas!!! It should be up n about a foot tall by now... ours is.

the Dahlia has recovered from loosing it's top but only about 1 inch high the other three tubers are now where to be seen. Still no Mombretia at all... but the back garden looks better for a massive shake up biggrin.gif
