Shock Adsorbers Which type, what brand?

Hello everyone,
I have another dilemma, I've bought a set of new tyres (Bridgestone Potenza RE720) and the guy that changed them didn't make any measuring of the suspension geometry since he saw that front shock adsorbers are leaking oil.
I need to replace them, but I'm in dobut which brand to choose. Currently I have a choice between the original (oil, I think), Monroe (gas) and Kayaba (also gas, I presume).
Any advice?

I had Monroes fitted to my Fiesta Zetec S, couldn't fault them.
Have you thought about Ford Racing shocks?

Can you get ford racing shocks any more? I spoke to Tony from Pumaspeed earlier this week to get a couple of front ones and he told me that they don't have any, and Ford racing either don't exist any more or don't make them (I think it was they don't exist any more).

Is the Ford Racing kit basically the FRP set up? if so, try these finis codes @ Ford. I managed to get my ford parts counter to order Ford Racing parts from Ford Daventry yesterday.
9097765 Front Damper & Spring Assembly Complete
9097956 Rear Damper & Spring Assembly Complete

Yeah - http://pumaspeed.co.uk/showdetails.php?id=243
When I phoned on Monday, they had none and wouldn't be getting any more because they aren't made (the ones on offer were old stock)

there is a little confusion.
Ford Racing also did shocks for the Ka which fitted the Puma, these are what Pumaspeed I think from memory bought a lot of stock off.
these are not the same as the shocks on the FRP, different parts, but often are refered to as Ford Racing shocks, as they are but they were for the Racing KA that they did.
Ford Racing KA shocks fit the Puma from what I have understood.
Frp shocks do not fit the Puma out of the box, the settings/fitment is different and the Puma would need modification to get the FRP setup to fit.

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
