RIght where to start.

SEems this was the original coil pack and lead set up for the puma.

IT them seems around 05/2000 ford replaced the coil pack and lead set up as seen here:

Now I've used euro car parts for years for OE replacement stuff. They have been nothing short of excellent every single time but there is some confusion with the coils and leads.

Now they only sell two types of coil packs:

Eurocarparts code: 413590220
For OE number 1319788, 1S7G-12029-AC
Ignition Coil 2 Spark,
Coupling Type Saw Tooth
Number of Poles 3
Required quantity 1
Supplementary Article/Supplementary Info 2 without electronics
Date From 05/2000

Product Code: 413770010
Ignition Coil
Coupling Type Saw Tooth
OE Number 1317972
Required quantity 1
Voltage [V]12
Weight [kg]0,62
Fitted Quantity 1

So as you can see, neither has the ridge for the clip leads, and look carefully youll see different cylinder number on the outputs.

Now regarding leads they do 3 types.

OE Replacements with the clips (pointless with the coil packs they sell. purely if you got the original.

Euro car parts code: 409595320

They then do this part which seems to push fit and no proper cover fins.
Product Code: 409595350

http://www.eurocarpa...1a8eeeac

Lastly:
Product Code: 409595440
These. Push fit, correct fins.

SO my thoughts are EuroCarParts dont do a coil pack with the stumpy connectors requiring leads with clips.

HOld on...

OK so the last link is for the Zetec S fiesta I believe, but my point being I have that type pack and the clip type leads on my pma withe euro car parts refuse to accept.

Mines a 03.5/2000 W plate

So totally unsure what to get.

Any help?

Need the build date of your car to be sure.

Only two coil packs on the Puma.

928F-12029-CA prior to May 2000 - FINIS 6860289

988F-12029-AD from May 2000 - FINIS 1317972 which is the one Euro list above.

1319788, 1S7G-12029-AC is for a 2 litre Duratec, not sure why they list it for a Puma.

Leads are listed by Ford individually -

Older
1004431
1004427
1004430
1004432

Newer
1335374
1335369
1335371
1335377

There's no set part number but again there shouldn't need to be a massive amount of choice. Are you planning to visit or are you having them posted?

The build date of your Puma can be worked out from VIN number. The VIN number is on a plate on the slam panel in the engine bay or on the passenger side of the dash bottom of windscreen or under a small carpet patch in the front floor well.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
