Trying to tidy up L8FRP headlights and in polishing up they seem to have a coating on the face of them that looks awful and doesn't seem to polish off with Megs Plastex any thoughts pals?

When ever I polish mine they are super bright looking afterwards.
Perhaps there is no coating but rather the lens has been left crazed with essentially fine scratch lines.
I have used Safe Cut sucessfully on mine.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Thanks Kate I didn't think they were coated but they almost look as if they've been finely sprayed with a coating that has lifted in certain places.

The lights are coated to protect them from UV light. UV light causes plastic to turn yellowish. I even think the lights might be sprayed with clear lacquer and would recommend doing so after polishing them or they would turn yellow in 6 months tops
