Hi all, im a newbie to the world of pumas having just been given one for free that needs a new head, luckily i had a spare one laying around.
My question is then, has anyone supercharged one??? was thinking of running something like a BMW Mini or Merc supercharger.
Open to any info etc that could help me, just thought whilst i got it apart might as well! also has anyone thought about putting a 6-speed manual box in???
Just some ideas im toying with, don't know alot about these 1.7 lumps so thought i'd ask those how do!
You lot
Cheers oz

Hi there,
I like the sound of a supercharged Puma, it would suit the character of the cars nicely.
The only thing I would recommend is changing the pistons and rods, as the standard components are fine for n/a, but aren't really man enough for a pressure-charged application.
A bit of ARP wouldn't go amiss either.
I'm pretty sure that PEC do a turbo piston and rod combo that would go well, I know a couple of guy's who run turbo Puma's on standard internals and generally spend more time picking up bits of errant engine off the road than tearing it up!
Regards, Al

I don't think anyone's completed a super charged Puma in my 8 years around these parts.
There's always loads of talk and even some starting of projects but no finishes.
Turbos on the other hand seem to have been successful.
Technically there's no reason you couldn't do it, people have supercharged KAs and Fiestas

it's the issue of space and custom parts...also a blower would be perhaps more suited to a bigger engine / power than the already well balanced 1.7...
Wizards Of Nos 60hp progressive delivery.... yeah baby yeah :-o
