Has anyone used either of these systems ? i am considering purchasing one or the other utterly fed up with watermarks as i live in a very hard water area,so opinions on either system would be appreciated

Or try rain water.

You will need at least 2 water butts, 3 is better.

3rd water butt would be pure water and ideal for the final rinse.

Other option would be to use a rinse aid, i use the one from ag.

nice idea unfortunately not practical due to the volume required as its needed for commercial valeting cheers anyhow

ahhh

then di resisn or the rinse aid by auto glym

since you only need a watering can for the final rinse off, the water butt would still be good enough.

i am looking at resisn since we dont have the space for 3 water butts, but its still around 5L of waste water to 1L of pure water.

Only time i'd heard this before (Osmosis), was the principle behind a dialysis machine Andy.

Done my time on dialysis too, dont miss wasting 12 hours a week either.

the auto gloss rinse's not a bad product but trust me on a blazing hot sunny day no shade and two or three black range rovers can be a major pain!.i am more tempted by an ro unit with a polisher(final stage small resin filter)because of the hardness of the water will i think rapidly expend a plain DI unit and in the long run cost of resin in mind it ain't cheap, the ro will work out the most viable solution

If you want soft water, then why not use a tank, and put a water softening salt block in it?

hi mate been meaning to ask you(bit off topic this bit )what was the ecu tweak you had done ?benefits ,cost and where did you get it done?)
ps reverse osmosis takes almost all the impurity's out of the water you run through it no water marks you dont even have to dry the car literally just wash and go!! would save me shed loads of time

ECU updated by Tremona in Southampton, last production Puma map installed into ECU, also 'tweaked' to run om 99RON petrol if required, cost £50 a while back now, fuel economy improved to the point where ECU update has paid for itself many times over by now.

Osmosis, via a semi-permeable membrane, removes water and toxins from blood via a dialysis machine, presume reverse Osmosis would fill patient with water = usually fatally.

dont talk to me about black rr's. saying that the dark blue ones arnt much better either.

i normally keep the panels wet and dry one panel at a time in direct sun, takes longer but no water spots.

reverse osmosis is also used by the Navy to make fresh water from salt water!

Obviously depends on your rates and turn around times but most commerical valeting companies I know of use either a deep pile uber drying or waffle weave towel to dry the vehicle afterwards or a decent air blower, no water treatments. Its common to use a qd (quick detailer) as a rinse aid aswell and should always be carried out for a final wipe-down anyhow's.

Yea I saw that program on telly too recently

It was either Extreme engineering on Quest, or Richard Hammonds engineering connections?

Yea that was ace, but I loved seeing the 'last line of defense' of HMS Illustrious's un-manned massive gatling gun, 90 bullet the size of your fist a second or something equally as crazy, the sound was fenomenal! and that's ship actually one of the smaller one's.

what's your current mpg and how you calculating it?

btw reverse osmosis is very intensive/slow process - you need litres of water to wash a car and it takes hours to produce that quantity
