If you’re a male, take two weeks off and make sure everyone around you nurses to your every need. If you’re a female, I’d recommend you carry on as normal, nothing the matter with you.
On a serious note, I find Night and Day nurse works a treat, and I eat a lot of healthy foods, especially oranges.

Knorr chicken noodle packet soup is good too. Half the pack in a huge titty mug and add boiling water. Also Bombay Mix and Pringles I find help.
Hope you feel better soon.

Honey, lemon juice hot water and a splash of scotch (supermarket will do- it's a waste of Glenfiddich).
Tissues impregnated with aloe vera type stuff are good for the nose
lemsip etc are expensive and won't be any better than the above in my experience
pseudophedrine may be helpful for the congested, headachey feeling, but don't mix with alcohol

I don't think the original poster mentioned having Flu.
IMO a cold should be treated with vitamin c, paracetamols and pseudophedrine.
As Eldoodorino mentioned Flu is terrible, I had it and it put me in bed for a week.
A cold on the other hand needs sharing, carry on, go to work, make sure everyone gives you sympathy and make sure you pass the cold on. after all why should you suffer at home on your own.
Day and night nurse are a waste of money IMO.
