Hello all

My name is Blake, i recently bought my 2nd puma after owning a 1.7i Puma black a couple of years ago, lovely little car! I bought an Audi A3 2.0 TDI which I still have and use as my commuting car, and bought my purple puma last weekend as I'm desperate for a fun weekend / project car to get my teeth into, so my drive is now cluttered with 3 cars Posted Image

I'll put photos up soon, once i figure out how to upload them.

Hope to speak soon x

Im thinking of stripping it out and wither turning it into a track / road car yes. There is a gap in the engine bay atm where i've removed a godawful pipercross foam airfilter, cone type. It didn't even have a cold air feed so that's next on my list, to do:

  • Bigger brakes
  • Sort rust and repair paint in areas (Ford paint only, Halfords is a rubbish match!)
  • lower rear end 35mm or so
  • refurb wheels / new wheels and tyres
  • new rear lights - on their way to me :)
  • new drivers side headlight as previous owner has tried frosting it!!! may t-cut off though, i've done the passenger side already, bloody hard work!
  • new exhaust or at least new rear silencer
  • various bushes / mounts etc for MOT
  • possibly sideskirts and a small rear spoiler if it doesnt look chavvy

Hey a P reg, wow a really early Puma, it will be one of the fastest.
If interested there is an FRP air box mod thread. Ian G worth a contact for a replacement airbox.

HelloI also own a Puma on a T plate.I use Halfords Melina blue to cover small areas until the final repaint sometime in the future. It seems to match quite well - helps to keep rust at bay!Stewart

just fitted 278mm brakes off a ST150 - whilst it was a bit of a mission (needed to buy new pads and discs) which are still bedding in but are massive improvement - have a few tiny bubbles on the rear arches - fairly normal

ST170 300mm discs and Mondeo MK3 calliper's is a really cheap and easy brake upgrade, did mind recently and made a huge impact :)

Thanks for the kind words all, and yes the brakes are lacking so bigger ones are next on the ever growing list of things to do! Im cutting the rear arches out and welding new metal in to stop the rot, the previous owner tried bodging and has made a proper mess of it too Posted Image
