Just got my puma - 52 reg, silver, lowered suspension, 17" alloys, twin exhausts ...

Got a few niggly problems though, and was wondering if anyone could help!

- cd player stops playing a song half way through and then says CD error

- heater will only blow out hot air. If it is set to cold it still blows hot (unless aircon is on)

-there is a noise when I first set off. It sounds a bit like I have crunched the gears, but happens either before I change from 1st to 2nd, but most often just after I have changed into 2nd (not everytime though). It doesn't happen when I have the clutch down, or when I am actually changing gear.

Apart from that I'm really happy with it!!!!!!!

PS even though my login is 'girlie racer' it isn't a racing puma! Just looks sporty!

hello and welcome to pumapeople, the crunch sound is normal, one does it once when you set off, for the remaining time your engine is on it will not do it, it is your traction control setting its, self it will do that at about 15mph, nothing to worry about wink.gif

Your heater problem is a Very Common fault with Puma's.
The heater control valve is U/s.

A new one is required, very easy to fit, 4 hoses and an electrical plug.
Its the thing behind the engine attached to the top of the bulkhead with hoses going to it.
You either get hot or cold when they fail mellow.gif

Try a lens cleaner CD in your cd player, and make sure theres no finger prints on the back.

My CD stutters on uneven roads, but thats just the hard suspension on the FRP ohmy.gif

Welcome to the site good.gif

Do we get to see some piccies? smile.gif

The heater as above is more than likely the HCV (Heater Control Valve)

CD player might just need cleaning, failing that just pick up a second hand 6006 smile.gif

*or 6000 (6006 is the 6 Disc version)

Hi - welcome to PP.

The 'crunch' is your ABS self test - only does it when you first drive off after starting the engine.

Are you trying to play 'copied' CDs in your player?

Welcome to P.P. That skippy error thing was happening on my cd player when I first got the car so it got sent away for repair under the warranty. It took 6 weeks to come back and the cd player is fine now ..... can't say much about the radio though!
