Right ok I am very confused, I have searched and read lots of postsabout lights, but there are so many choices I am unsure.

This is what I am after -

Bright neon blue side lights, which ones shall I go for?, I have been told the bulb fitting no is 501?

Dipped beam headlights, I would like as close to Xenons as pos?, I have been told the fitting no is 9005/HB3.

Also I want some 'anti fried egg' indicator bulbs 'DIADEM bulbs' ?, I have been told the fitting no. is 581?

I have just looked at www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk anyone ordered them before?

I received my Osram 9005/HB3's from autobulbsdirect yesterday. Got free blueish 501 sidelights too. They posted them straight away after I ordered them and the prices are competitive.

Haven't fitted them yet but they come recommended by Pumawales.

I got them and I love them - let me know what you think about them - and if they no better then I'm going for an eyesight test.

Did you buy four? cool2.gif

Great for blasting around the Lanes - and even my mates comment on them being good.

The standard high beams are good enough so I only got 2 for low beams.

I usually describe the bulbs as follows:

Sidelight: W5W (Wedge 5W)
Dip/Main Beam: HB03 or 9005
Indicator: 21W OSP (Offset Pin) Offset pins are found on orange coloured bulbs, the clear ones (like the ones in the rear indicator/fogs) are straight pin and transparent.

Osram Diadem appear as metallic blue when off, you can also get silver ones from Phillips if you prefer no colour.

Be aware you will be asking for trouble by putting blue sidelights in...unless you like being stopped constantly and questioned (usually when you're in a hurry) avoid them and use white bulbs.

All this bulb info is making my brain hurt ja_stupid.gif

Loads of different post with different information.

Could some one (very simply) tell me what are the best and brightest bulbs we can fit without them melting or getting pulled every 3 miles.

ta very much cool2.gif

The best is based on opinion, but if I were to get all new bulbs, I would get the following:

SIDELIGHTS: PIAA 4-led sidelight bulbs (W5W)
INDICATIORS: Phillips Silver Vision or Osram Blue (leaving the fried egg covers off in both cases)
SIDE REPEATERS: Whatever colour round ones you like which come with W5W orange bulbs
HEADLIGHTS: PIAA 9005 Xtreme White Plus
MAINBEAMS: Standard are usually bright enough (and the only time people see them is if you flash them), but could replace with the same as headlights (though these are expensive)

Don't buy "Krypton" bulbs, they are 100w and they blow on the driver side after a few hours use (sometimes less). The puma just doesn't like them. Try to stick to 50 or 60w. Philips Blue Vision or Philips Premium are popular too.

Agree with the above (so long as sidelights are WHITE) 10.gif

High power (65W+) are a bad idea as the insides of the Puma headlight unit is very cramped and you get heat build up...

PIAA bulbs are very expensive and not that much better.

My mate has them in his vRS Fabia and they are just as good as what I have with the OSRAM's.
IMPO - I think OSRAM are better value for money.

He often comments that I have good lights when out on the lanes.

Anyway who cares - next year will be a set of spot lights wink.gif

There is nothing to be compared with HID biggrin.gif

Low and high beam in Puma uses the same bulbs - HB3/9005.
as to my experience Philips BV and stock SYLVANIA are very similar with light color output :|
see ya

HID, leather, clear taillights, full body kit, M2 style mirrors, Cone filter , Air feed pipe, Brembo brakes, Ferodo pads, audio ...
