Severe Oil Leak

Hi there,
im new on here but could really do with some help. I purchased a 1999 1.7 puma yesterday to find it has a really bad oil leak.Also there is a very loud noise coming from the front end which i believe is the hydrolic cam followers but im no mechanic. Can anyone help me out??

Don't let it run low on oil. 5w30 semi synthetic for UK climate.
Can you see the area the oil is coming from?
Can you return it if it is losing that much oil?
Did you hear it running when you went to see it?
Hopefully you will get some more replies.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

their are no hydraulic cam followers..

The 1.7 Zetec uses a bucket and shim arrangement in between cam lobe and valve..

Have look just above the crankshaft pulley there is a Allen bolt that' caps off a oil way if that comes loose you will have a major oil leak when the engines running😁😁
