Hi all, does anybody know the weight of a standard puma door. When I say door I mean door cards, door and glass the whole assembly. I have lightened my doors to 18 kilos and forgot to weigh them in standard form. Thanks in advance

Out of interest, what have you done to lighten the doors?

Hi, Perspex instead of glass, door cards replaced for plastic, all the inner metal work cut out and about 70 13mm holes drilled in the top frame and the bottom fixings of the frame have been removed. Also 10 54mm holes drilled in the bottom of the door. The doors still have the original opening mechanism but no electric window motors. So all in all a lot of work but it has gained me and extra 12 bhp per ton so well worth it. Hoping to get around 280/290 bhp per ton which I will know in a few weeks when I corner weight the car

Ive posted this question else where ,but you's will have a better knowledge then most, whats a realistically acheiveable minimum weight just stripping out? Im assuming you've long pasted that point, & what weight are you aiming at to acheive the power to weight ratio you state above.

18kg still sounds a lot although I measured mine at the time to have lost 15kg per side.

See my project thread for pics - http://www.pumapeopl...pic=95966&st=40

Didn't leave much in there.

Hi 33 kg minus 15 kg is 18 kg total weight. So if you have taken 15 kg of each door yours will be 18 kg ?

Yes mate that sounds about right.

I meant 18kg sounds heavy when there's nothing left of them, you've gone even further than I did :)
