Since a lot of standard pumas have big 17" wheels on with little or no rubbing, is the frp steering limiter really needed??
It just seems a little over the top sometimes, especially when parking.

Without a limiter the FRP rims would rub, and it is unacceptable to put a product out to sale with mechanical interference issues like that.

Oh I know it's not a big problem... Just kind of miss beinge able to drive straight in to tight parking spaces..
Just seems that the frp limiter is quite erm.. limiting..

when you turn on full lock with the FRP, is it possible to scrape your alloys on the ground? as the low profile tyres seem to disappear especially on less than smooth surfaces
would this be worse with out the limiter as you could turn tighter?

I would say they definitely need the limiter, mine rubbed very lightly on full right lock, and that was only with one passenger.
I doubt the alloys could be scraped though, things like M3's have tighter turning circles than the FRP - with lower profiles and 19" wheels. They have no problems. Maybe only if you hit a fairly large bump while doing so.
