Just to chip in to the earlier conversation re. marketing campaigns and struggling to sell at launch.

I was a Ford Dunton employee at the time, and it was a big struggle to sell anywhere near 300 cars at new to full price private punters.

First, the FRP came on the Management scheme - which was unexpected, it only came on a few months after launch as cars were being built and unsold.

Second, it came on the Ford priviledge discount scheme, at around Å“15.5k ISTR - a bigger % discount than other cars in the range. Most 'tasty' cars didn't come on the discount scheme - or not for a few years after launch. If all the production could be sold at full price to private punters - then they would not come on the scheme.

I don't have a break down of numbers sold privately and cars laundered through the managment roll scheme and sold via priviledge. However, there were a SIGNIFICANT number to management (100+). It is worth noting that this was a fallback, initially it was hoped all would sell to private buyers, it only came on management roll because they didn't.

Anyway, still a wonderful car - and this used car looks very very tidy!

Chris

`I don't have a break down of numbers sold privately and cars laundered through the managment roll scheme and sold via priviledge.'

I like the word `laundered' roflmao.gif

Anyway, good luck with the sale (you've nearly reached what I would have paid you for it 8 weeks ago!) blink.gif

VW Golf MK V R32 - Outstanding car for all occasions
Ford Racing Puma #148 - What can I say that hasn't already been said about these cars?
Merc CLK 320 - Good Points - Comfortable, Bad Points - Comfortable!
Subaru Impreza Turbo WRX STI Type RA - 4 doors, 5 seats, a boot and 0-60 in 4.3! It doesn't get much better!
VW Golf MK2 GTI 16v Special (celebrating the 10 millionth Golf) - my baby, shouldn't have sold her
Pug 205 GTI 1.9 - an even bigger hoot!
Pug 205 GTI 1.6 - a hoot!
VW Beetle (new one from Mexico) - really quite good
1962 Mini 800 - always breaking down
