Hi All,

I really hope someone can help.

My front windscreen has stopped just stopped working amd I am a bit unsure what to do.

Please can somebody tell me where the fuse is located and what colour it should be as my owners book only mentions the yellow rear heated windscreen one.

I was told it was a huge orange one (40 amp) in the engine fuse box and I have replaced this :-S

Thank you for any help you can give :-)

The relay for the heated windscreen is by your right leg on the dash

Pull out the little cubbie hole to access the fuses then with a Philips screwdriver undo the screws and remove.
You will then see another fuse tray with two large green ford relays to the left hand side. It will be the first one that is for the windscreen.

if you remove the relay you can put the one behind it in its place to check I think they are the same! But don't forget to replace it back after you have checked as the 2nd relay is for the lights I think.

There were different Fuse/Relay layouts on the Puma.
According to my Owner's Guide (for the later Puma):
- Auxiliary Fuse Box (under the bonnet) is Fuse 52, 40 amp (green), Heated windscreen.
- Rear side of the Central Fuse Box (by the driver's right knee) is Relay II (red) Heated front screen.

The Haynes Fiesta Manual (3397) can answer a lot of your questions.

Thank you for your help :-)

Mine is a 2000 model so would it be the same as the later models?

Both of my relays were the same 40 amp green ford ones I would have thought yours would be in the same place as mine (v reg Frp )

heated screens that are 10 years + old are coming to the end of life i'm afraid (like a lot of other parts lol :/ ) ... just order a new one through your insurance...

I just replaced my fiesta screen last month as there was only a single thin strip of element working in the middle of the screen which was pretty useless....

it's more likely the element is knackered than the wiring loom has suddenly become defective i would have thought...i wouldn't mess with the fuses unless you know it's blown for sure....

I'm pretty sure the Puma screen is like my XR3i screen was and in two halves. So you usually only get one half die not both together. Sods law its the drivers side
So provided the whole screen is dead, its relay or fuse ;)

Now its Racing Puma 072

both sides were gone on my fiesta... tell tale signs of it going is usually getting strips of element not working..you start getting funny patches...

if the fuse IS blown i'd be trying hard to work out why.. they don't just blow for no reason, and especially the front screen one which is specific 'ford' fuse for the front screen...in the owners handbook it also states is not a 'DIY' fuse to be messing with...
