Introduction.

Join in with Pumapeople's return to the largest free annual classic motoring festival in the South East, Magnificent Motors! :D

Over 500 classic and vintage cars of all ages are displayed alongside the beach on Eastbourne's elegant promenade. Last year saw over 30,000 visitors from across Europe enjoy the both out Puma display and the large number of other vehicle displays, large French Market, Funfair, Beer Tent, Live Music, and displays of Motorcycles, Buses, Military Vehicles, and Traction Engines. :D

The event is organised by Eastbourne Borough Council, in partnership with Eastbourne Historic Vehicle Club, East Sussex Omnibus Society plus a variety of other historic transport groups. :)

What's On?

The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday. The event starts at 10am with a parade of the vehicles taking part in the event, along the entire length of the seafront to celebrate the automotives of yesteryear. (1997 in our case!) :) This is also a very popular part of the show, with many people lining the streets to wave and take pictures. The Police even stop other traffic to allow the parade to come though! :D

Once at the show area, we can form our Puma display. Our display will be similar to that we have had previously at Ford Fair, Castle Combe, etc. The event runs through to 5pm each day (though people seem to leave earlier on the Sunday).

You are welcome to stay with your Puma, or explore the seafront area which includes the Victorian Pier and Bandstand, the Carpet Gardens, and Napoleonic Wish Tower. :) Alternatively, you can walk a short distance into the town centre and visit the many shops and Arndale Shopping Centre. You can even swim in the Sea if it's warm enough!!! :D :D :D

For those wishing to show their Puma's on both days, then we can meet up on Saturday night for a meal, and head out to one of Eastbourne's popular clubs, bars or restaurants! :D

How to Join?

I will again initially express our group's interest in displaying at this event to the organisers and will await their confirmation. If you would like to join in with this weekend of seaside fun, then please post up and I can include you in our plans ;) :)

Have to say that this is an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC event........
Having been an unexpected exhibitor at the last show, (exhibiting for the first time), i had an extremely pleasant and fulfilling day. I was pleasantly suprised by the attention my Puma got, after all, it was "just another looked after Puma", but did not look out of place amongst the other exhibitors - made me very proud to be a Puma owner....
As Chris has said, you can walk around all the other exhibits, take a walk along the seafront or walk into town to do some shopping - you really are spoilt for choice....
All i can is, if you are proud of your car, then go along and show it off.... Or, for a great family day out, go along as a visitor - you WILL NOT be disappointed !!!!!

Please put me down as a possible for this one too. Hopefully I should have a 4-wheeled vehicle (preferably without the rust) in time

I think that weekend is still free for me at the moment, but I'll double check just to be on the safe side. hope it doesn't clash with anything as it looks like a good show, especially if the weather is nice for it :) :) :)

Excellent, would be great if you could join us Paul on either form of transport. :)The weather was scorching last year, so hopefully it will be ok for 2010 too. The event is outdoors, but even when I attended the show in drizzly conditions about 3 years ago there was still a great selection of exhibits and strong turnout of visitors to the show. :)

It's really as simple as that Tim. Magnificent Motor is one of the large events of the year on Eastbourne Seafront and always gets lots of attention. Our display well received last year and the Puma's got lots of positive attention. All those who attended has a great time and it was certainly something a little different to the usual car shows we normally attend. :)

Being a complete new comer to concours; what exactly does it mean to have a concours car? Do you drive the cars still, or just keep them polished in the garage? How many hours do you spend cleaning a concours car a week and do you replace all the old, worn out bits with new bits?

Good question, well it depends on how 'Hardcore' you are, some people dont drive theirs, and 'Trailer' them to shows etc. I just spend a lot of time on mine, I have always kept it clean, but now I go the extra mile to make sure its a clean as poss, yet it still gets driven.

Oh, Now David #500 is gonna be there things are hotting up!! I will be reporting back to Lee Fulmer by the way, hehe! :woot2:

Hi That must take alot of work; to drive it and still keep it clean.. Btw if u garage a car and its not clean when you garage it, can this damage the paint work due to contaminates? Sounds daft but want to make sure.

I'd definately like to go to the Eastbourne show, to show or not to show..looks good and unpretentious.
