i done 330 miles there the other day and only cost me Å“40.

Divide by 12,000 miles = 48.3p / mile

Especially when you consider it is virtually all uninspiring motorway or A14?

insurance, road tax, cost of car, and RAC cant really be used to calculate the cost of one journey!
after all these are all fixed costs! if you drove 0 miles all year you would still have to pay these.
you need to calculate all the variable costs that are directly attributable to the jouney. i.e. petrol used, tyre wear, wear on car.. etc. im sure you will be glad to hear it will be much less.
