Quick question, when using DC1 or DC2, how hard should the stuff be rubbed into the paintwork before buffing off? I checked the megs forums but couldn't really find any answers.

At the moment, my strategy is just "give it some welly then rub it off". Am I doing it right?

DC#1.....you can rub in quite firmly as it is claimed by Megs that it removes minor swirls so youll need quite a bit of pressure when applying to do this.

DC#2...you shouldnt need to rub very hard at all as it is a polish and should just be applied to the paintwork and then buffed off...it will mask any light swirls and will add oils to the paintwork to make the finish appear glossy.

I did actually notice this on the other thread...but to be honest i cannot say either way as i do not know much about new paint and wax/polishes.

BUT, if it is advisable not to add anything to the paintwork for a certain amount of time to let the new paint breathe then i wouldnt add polish just in case.

I think polish is ok, but wax will stop the new paint breathing.

That's what I've read on here and the megs forums smile.gif

Yep, should leave it for a few months to harden before applying wax

If you go to my thread again, there is a link to the Megs site which is really informative - you should read it as you are one of the detailing experts on here ja_cool.gif
