Hi - I reckon I will have a new 1.7 T '99 Kat on Saturday. (hope it doesn't Rain!)

Currently have a SAAB 900 SE Turbo at the moment!
Test driving the Kat put a big biggrin.gif on my face - looking forward to polishing it in summer ! he he he :-)

The Kat has a Single CD - what kind of multichangers can it hook up to?
I have a pioneer 12disc changer in my saab - I dont really want to transplant the head unit. would like to keep the silver blue dash !!

Cheers !

Monday 17th March -

WOW

What a motor - Makes my SAAB feel Soooo Sloooow!

The head unit is a 6000CD changer compatible.

Any more ideas?

Thanks

hi mate
most good I.C.E outlets sell the adaptor that would let you run the changer you have from the standard stereo

IMO change that head unit if it's a standard ford one - changed out my 5000 in mine, and then changed the rears to 6x9's and it sounded like a completely new car!!

So much so, i don't need to even think about doing anything else to it!

i upgraded from the original 5000 about a week after i got my kat. After reading about the problems of trying to match the silver finish of the adapters and stuff i just bought a Ford 6006E instead. Its quite a neat lil system, same size as the standard 5000 but can store 6 cds in at once. Basically its got its own cd changer built in. I love it, its not amazingly loud like all ford ones, but might be worth a try if u dont want to fart about with adapters and aftermarker head units.

Look for the brand visteon as they are compatible with the ford 5000 head units. I've had mine for 18 months and no problems and good quality sound when hooked up with infinity fronts and a pioneer powered sub in the boot. I got mine from ice-direct on the net. Should be under £150. Also dont buy any more than a 6 disc changer as you only have a choice of 6 discs on the 5000 head unit. Hope this helps.
