Looks like it's coming along nicely.

I might have missed this in the thread (I read it all about two months ago and have been dipping back in) but what sort of power, power band (peak power/torque@revs), rough figures are you expecting?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for looking in,

Sorry been really busy lately, and away twice too :)

Car has done its first Tarmac Autotest Event at Broaford, ran well all day, very very quick.
Got some softer springs to try on rear now and a different diff ratio to build for rear end (its in RWD mode atm) and 4.27 was just too low, it was on the rev limiter instantly in 1st and 2nd with wheels alight ;)Will try 3.92 in rear, suspect that will be beter, and is the one I was going to use in the Forests.
Shredded 2 sets of rear tyres in 10 runs LOLOLOL :roflmao:
Still got sump guard and a few bits to do before it goes in the forests in 4X4 mode ;)
Power is around 270 BHP but with about 350 Nm at 4000 and loads of torque all the way from idle to 7k :)

Major update soon, got lots of pics to put up, plus more work before its next outing on 21st July, (another Tarmac then hopefully a SV Gravel Sprint event at Skeabost late September)

Cheers for now

Dave

Looking cool Dave!!

The "evo" spoiler was never used on the works cars or sold with the kit cars, so technically i doubt it would ever have been homologated. It was available as an accesory from the ford motorsport catalogue and thats it. The Spoiler on the development puma cosworth was again never available for sale. I believe it was robbed off a touring car.

Hi Guys,

Seems like ages since I promised an update, have had too much to do lately, anyway here goes...............

Mudlaps fitted as per MSA regs.....................

Posted Image

Posted Image

Rear Spoiler painted and fitted..................

Posted Image

Wiper arm modded with a water spray bar and note the green rubbers LOL...........................

Posted Image

Views of the car........................

Posted Image

Posted Image

Checker plate finished on floorpan and sills......................

Posted Image

Posted Image

Washer bottle relocated in boot.......................

Posted Image

12V Fork Truck Socket fitted to plug in a jump start battery if needed.....................

Posted Image

Programmable RPM Window switch fitted to control Variable Intake system..................

Posted Image

Spot Lamp fuses and relays.............................

Posted Image

General...................

Posted Image

Posted Image

DOH !! Managed to crash it down a ditch a week before its second outing, but the mud and foliage etc adds a bit of Kudos LOL
Good thing was it was quite a hard hit down a rocky ditch, and nothing serious got damaged, so if it was on a stage I could have still carred on !!...................

Posted Image

Manged to fibreglass the bumper back together and fit a new Number Plate, Spot Lamps and Lower Grill before last Saturday, so it looked fine for the TV cameras, as they were at Broadford filming us for BBC Alba, don't know when it's going to be screened yet !! .......................

I picked up 3rd place out of 20 odd entries and that was with no power steering in the afternoon, the pump packed up on the last run in the morning !!
By 'eck it was hard to steer, I used the throttle mainly LOL
Noticed it gets a bit warm when revving it's nuts off in 1st and 2nd, it was fine on the road, but it is an old Rad so probably chokka.........
I've just bought it a nice big Ally Rad, and also got a brand new in date Harness for Drivers side and Hand Held Extinguisher in readiness for it's first SV Gravel outing.

Still need a pair of FRP front wheel arch liners and finish the sumpguard and door trims.
The rear end is much improved with softer springs, might go down a bit on the fronts, then it's time to get some gauges on the front end and play with camber castor alignment settings, also time to Advance up the ignition and play with mid range fuelling......................
The car still has a lot more to give yet :)

Cheers for looking in,
more soon,
Dave

I was only thinking about your beast yesterday Dave.
Wondered what you had been up to.

My FRP is up to 200 BHP with Nos.
Great fun to drive :)
Yours must be in another league with that V6 :)

Great to read an update :D
FRP front arch liners are just two standard Puma carpet liners cut and stapled together. Pretty crude they are too.

Hi Buddy,

Car is fine, have done lots more jobs, loads of pix to post up when I get some spare time, hopefully soon................

I have had to take almost a year off my life to sort out family hassle.
Have had to move my inlaws up to here and build them a new Log Cabin home in our grounds................

Bloody thankless task, never again LOL

Cabin going up :-

Posted Image
Moved them up February and March and in May this year I started the building single handed, and un paid !!), which has taken a serious toll on my finances :angry:/>
I have just got the cabin almost finished and they moved in yesterday, just a few outside tidying up jobs left.
I've only had the car out once this year, first time on Gravel, set FTD................I ran a 1m 52s every one else was in the 1m 56s bracket over a 2 mile stage :woot2:/>

Car is an absolute animal, I had to back off throttle a bit on the 3rd run to set that time LOL :-

Back soon with some pics.

Cheers Dave
